Buenos Aires, April 7 (NA) -- The Chamber of Deputies is discussing in committee on Tuesday the bill to reform the Glacier Law, amidst strong controversy, as the opposition has called for the exclusion of Mining Secretary Luis Lucero from speaking, citing his past work as a lawyer for mining companies. The joint committees on Natural Resources and Constitutional Affairs, chaired by libertarians José Peluc and Nicolás Mayoraz, will hear from governors and provincial and national officials before issuing the opinion that is set to be debated tomorrow in a special session. At the start of the meeting, Deputy Maximiliano Ferraro of the Civic Coalition requested that Mining Secretary Luis Lucero be excused from testifying. Ferraro stated that he cannot participate in the proceedings 'as he did in 2025' because 'he was a lawyer for more than ten mining companies'.
